Artisan style donuts come in all shapes, size, flavors, and regions depending on how you enjoy your donuts. I have seen donuts with nontradional fillings, toppings, and flavors. Instead of a Boston Creme or Jelly filling, there's a maple syrup filling or strawberry shortcake filling. Toppings may veer from the typical chocolate with sprinkles to a breakfast cereal toppings, butter pecan toppings, or cupcake style toppings. The recent new craze are hybrid donuts. Some popular hybrid donuts are the Cronut (Croissant/Donut), Macaronut (Macaron/Donut), and Wonut (Waffle/Donut).
